The Ainsty living room at The Fox at Walton
Rooms at The Fox

Rooms above the gastropub, in Walton, Wetherby.

Self-contained apartments at our Yorkshire gastropub, five minutes from the A1(M). The Ainsty is open and taking bookings now, and The Smiddy — our one-bedroom apartment — welcomes guests from 1 December 2026.

What's included

A self-catering stay, done properly.

No hidden extras. The kitchen is yours, the parking is on us, and the pub is twelve steps from your front door.

Proper double bedrooms

The Ainsty sleeps four across two doubles; The Smiddy sleeps two — couples, families, or longer stays.

Fully equipped kitchen

Hob, oven, fridge and the kit to cook a proper meal in.

Guest Wi-Fi

Fast, free, and stable enough to take a call from the kitchen table.

Smart-lock self check-in

Your code arrives before you do. Arrive at midnight if you need to.

Parking on site

Use the pub car park whenever you're staying. No charge, no fuss.

Tea, coffee & milk on arrival

Tea and coffee on the counter. Fresh milk in the fridge. The basics ready when you get in.

The pub downstairs

Dinner, drinks and Sunday lunch without needing to drive anywhere.

Optional add-ons

A welcome breakfast hamper or pre-arrival fridge stock — added at checkout.

Dogs by arrangement

Well-behaved dogs welcome with a small additional cleaning fee. Just let us know in advance.

A note on breakfast: the pub doesn't currently serve breakfast, so we don't include one. Tea, coffee and milk are stocked on arrival; a breakfast hamper is available as a paid add-on; and we'll point you at our favourite local spots if you'd rather walk out for it.

Frequently Asked Questions

When can I actually book a stay?

The Ainsty is open and taking bookings now through the widget above. The Smiddy, our one-bedroom apartment, welcomes guests from 1 December 2026 at £150 a night — send an enquiry or give us a call to book it.

Is breakfast included?

Honestly, no. The pub doesn't currently serve breakfast, so we don't want to imply one is included. You'll find tea, coffee and milk in the kitchen on arrival, and a paid breakfast hamper is available as a pre-arrival add-on.

Can we bring our dog?

Yes — well-behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement. There's an additional cleaning fee of £25 per stay.

How does check-in work?

The Ainsty has its own external entrance with a smart lock. Your unique access code arrives by email the day before you check in.

Is there parking?

Yes, free on-site parking in the pub car park, available throughout your stay.

Is the apartment accessible?

Not fully — the apartment is reached via a small flight of stairs and isn't suitable for guests with significant mobility needs. Please call us on 01937 842 192 before booking.

When will the other apartments be ready?

The Smiddy is available from 1 December 2026 and bookable now by enquiry or phone. The Rudgate follows late 2026 and The Croft, our two-bedroom barn conversion, in early 2027 — pick either on the form and we'll keep you in the loop.
